Collectives and Collaborative Projects

Beyond music releases, 2025 highlighted the growing influence of collectives and collaborative projects.

Many artists chose to work together rather than move alone.

Projects like SaladKlab grew from individual tracks into a full EP.

Secondary moved forward as a duo, diving deeper into Trance and harder sounds.

Meanwhile, Submerged followed a different path, developing Afro, Melodic, Progressive, and Tech House styles under a more structured mentorship.

Alter Ego also gained attention by letting the music stand above personal identity.

New Collectives on the Rise

At the same time, new collectives emerged with clear musical direction.

AFRONIGHTMUSIK blended Afro House with Brazilian influences, while Chili Flakes pushed high-energy Indo Bounce and Breakbeat.

Together, these movements showed how collaboration continued to drive creativity within the scene.

Grassroots Communities and DJ Movements

On a grassroots level, local communities remained essential.

Technohousy focused on accessible House and Techno events, while AMP and Deck Society created spaces for underground scenes and beginner DJs.

Indonesian Local Heroes also stayed active, moving between venues while consistently highlighting local talent across genres.

The Evolution of Jakarta’s Clubbing Landscape

Jakarta’s clubbing map continued to expand in 2025.

HW Group maintained a strong presence, while Pantai Indah Kapuk, especially PIK 2, grew rapidly with new nightlife venues.

Meanwhile, .sector in Bintaro became an important hub for underground communities.

The Rise of Soft Clubbing

One of the most noticeable shifts came through Soft Clubbing.

Influenced by Gen Z lifestyle changes, events moved toward healthier environments.

Morning raves, coffee parties, and smoke-free dancefloors attracted new audiences.

These events reduced alcohol focus and offered alternative ways to enjoy electronic music.

Face to Face (F2F) DJ Format

Finally, the Face to Face (F2F) DJ format brought fresh energy.

By placing DJs opposite each other with separate setups, F2F sets encouraged interaction and spontaneity.

From underground hard music events to high-profile pairings, this format gained strong momentum throughout the year.

Closing Reflection

Overall, Rave Colony’s 2025 recap shows a scene driven by diversity, collaboration, and constant experimentation.

As Jakarta moves into 2026, the future remains open, ready for new genres, new movements, and new ways to experience electronic music.
