The iconic hit One More Time from Daft Punk has found a new home at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

France’s national football team selected the track as its official goal song, ensuring the beloved dance anthem accompanies some of the tournament’s biggest moments.

FIFA introduced new audio guidelines for this summer’s tournament.

Under the updated rules, each participating nation’s football association can choose the songs played after goals and other key moments during matches.

The change gives every team a chance to bring its own identity to the World Cup atmosphere.

France wasted little time putting its selection into action.

Ranked second in the world and widely considered one of the favorites to lift the trophy, the team opened its World Cup campaign on June 16 with a 3-1 victory over Senegal.

“One More Time” from Daft Punk Echoes Through MetLife Stadium

During the match at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, One More Time played three times as France celebrated its goals.

Two of those moments came courtesy of Kylian Mbappé, whose brace helped secure the opening win.

The pairing felt fitting. Released in 2000, One More Time remains one of Daft Punk’s most enduring tracks.

More than two decades later, the song continues to unite crowds, whether on festival grounds or inside packed football stadiums.

Read more: Rampa & Thomas Bangalter Spark Collaboration Buzz in Berlin

National Teams Bring Their Own Soundtracks

France is not the only nation shaping the tournament’s soundtrack.

England kicked off its campaign on June 17 with a 4-2 victory over Croatia, introducing fans to the Chase the Sun selection by Planet Funk.

The approach marks a noticeable shift from the previous World Cup in Qatar, when Freed From Desire by Gala emerged organically as an unofficial anthem among supporters.

Meanwhile, Germany opted for Major Tom, the 1980s synth-pop classic by Peter Schilling, as its celebratory soundtrack.

Beyond the individual goal songs, FIFA has assembled its own official compilation for the tournament.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 album features contributions from artists including David Guetta, Megan Thee Stallion, and Andrea Bocelli, reflecting the event’s increasingly global cultural reach.

Thomas Bangalter Looks Beyond a Daft Punk Reunion

Away from the football spotlight, Thomas Bangalter recently made headlines with a surprise DJ appearance at The Lot Radio in Brooklyn.

Shortly before that set, he spoke with The Times about the recurring speculation surrounding a potential Daft Punk reunion.

Bangalter reflected that he felt grateful the duo had managed to preserve its legacy throughout its long career.

He also suggested that his focus now lies in exploring new creative paths rather than revisiting the past.

The renewed attention surrounding One More Time serves as another reminder of the duo’s lasting influence.

Even years after Daft Punk ended its celebrated run, its music continues to soundtrack collective moments of joy.

This time, those moments are unfolding on football’s biggest stage.

The post Daft Punk Iconic Track Becomes France’s Goal Song first appeared on Rave Colony.

Keinemusik member Rampa and Daft Punk legend Thomas Bangalter were recently spotted together in Berlin.

The sighting did not go unnoticed.

Almost instantly, it sparked waves of speculation across the electronic music community.

The moment caught attention after Rampa shared photos of himself alongside Bangalter, accompanied only by the word “Inspired.”

Read more: Andrew Bayer Returns With Fifth Album Set for 2026

Rampa and Thomas Bangalter in One Frame

The images show the two artists visiting the Berlin factory of TEILE, a brand known for hardware and DJ equipment.

At first glance, the meeting could simply reflect a shared curiosity about high-end gear and sound design.

However, the setting and timing have led many to believe there may be more behind the visit than a casual tour.

What truly fueled excitement was a photo revealing an open music project during their time at the factory.

Combined with Rampa’s caption, the image suggested that creative ideas may already be taking shape.

He then added another layer of intrigue.

In a comment, he mentioned that the moment was for his “1998 self.”

The remark hinted at a long-held dream of one day crossing paths creatively with Bangalter.

Hope for Collaboration

For now, the exact nature of any collaboration remains unclear.

Still, several possibilities stand out. On one hand, the two could be working on new music together.

Although Bangalter has stayed largely out of the spotlight since Daft Punk’s breakup, his return to production would be a major moment.

Pairing his legacy with Rampa’s current momentum, both as a solo artist and as part of Keinemusik, would mark a powerful creative union.

On the other hand, the visit to TEILE opens the door to a different kind of collaboration.

Many artists have partnered with hardware brands to develop instruments and DJ tools.

Between them, Rampa and Bangalter carry decades of experience.

That depth of knowledge opens the door to something beyond music alone.

They could easily channel it into shaping new production tools or performance equipment.

Ultimately, whether or not a project emerges, the mere possibility has generated undeniable buzz.

Fans remain hopeful that these two influential figures will eventually join forces.

Even so, seeing such respected names from different eras of electronic music share the same space is already exciting in its own right.

The post Rampa & Thomas Bangalter Spark Collaboration Buzz in Berlin first appeared on Rave Colony.

France has taken a major step in recognizing the cultural importance of electronic music.

The country has officially added the genre to its national Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

This decision marks an important milestone for the genre in France.

At the same time, it opens the door for a future submission to UNESCO.

According to reports from Le Figaro, the decision reflects nearly a century of innovation.

It traces back to the invention of the Ondes Martenot in 1928.

From there, it follows the evolution of electronic music through to the global rise of the French Touch movement.

Artists such as Air, Cassius, Daft Punk, and Justice played key roles in shaping this legacy.

Their work helped define the global sound of French electronic music.

At the same time, Jean-Michel Jarre stands out as one of the movement’s founding figures.

Moreover, the designation presents electronic music as a living and evolving cultural practice.

It highlights how the genre has shaped France’s artistic identity across generations.

Read more: Hyperpop: The Internet-Driven Future of Pop Music

Jean-Michel Jarre as an Electronic Music Pioneer in France

Jean-Michel Jarre’s 1976 album Oxygène helped introduce electronic music to a global audience and marked a turning point for the genre.

In addition, he has served as a UNESCO Ambassador for many years.

Through this role, he has become one of the most prominent voices supporting the genre.

His work also continues to advocate for the protection of intangible culture on a global scale.

On November 1, 2025, he strengthened this connection even further.

He delivered a large-scale performance at Registan Square in Samarkand.

The show took place during UNESCO’s 43rd General Conference, linking his music directly to the organization’s global mission.

Read more: HARMONY Marks the UN’s 80th Anniversary in Music

Response from Jean-Michel Jarre

In response to the announcement, Jarre expressed his satisfaction that electronic music has finally gained recognition as part of world heritage.

He also reflected on his decades-long commitment to UNESCO and his efforts to promote intangible cultural practices on an international level.

Beyond official recognition, this inscription emphasizes the lasting artistic, social, and historical impact of electronic music.

For more than five decades, Jean-Michel Jarre has continued to push creative boundaries through sound, technology, and large-scale performances.

He has staged landmark concerts at some of the world’s most culturally significant locations.

Many of these sites also hold UNESCO World Heritage status.

His performances have taken place at the Pyramids of Giza, the Forbidden City, the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, Masada, Pompeii, and most recently, Samarkand.

With this decision, France affirms that electronic music is more than just a genre.

Instead, it stands as an enduring cultural force that remains deeply woven into the nation’s heritage and artistic history.
