Moby has given Stranger Things fans a fresh soundtrack moment while excitement around the series finale remains high.

As the Netflix hit continues to dominate the conversation, Moby stepped in with something new.

The electronic music pioneer shared a fresh mashup for fans to discover.

It brings together his 1995 track When It’s Cold I’d Like to Die with Kate Bush’s iconic 1985 hit Running Up That Hill.

Both songs hold a special place in the world of Stranger Things.

Kate Bush’s classic quickly grew into the defining anthem of the show.

It became inseparable from some of its most emotional moments.

At the same time, Moby’s track also helped shape the series’ atmosphere, appearing in the first, fourth, and fifth seasons.

By bringing the two together, the artist tapped into the emotional core that links the series and its music.

When Inspiration Came to Moby

While watching the fifth and final season, he noticed that the two tracks sit at a similar tempo.

Netflix reported that the final season attracted more than 31.5 million views in its first week alone.

As a result, the show set a New Year’s Day streaming record and climbed near the top of the platform’s list of most popular English-language series.

Beyond streaming, the finale also reached audiences in theaters.

The final episode screened in roughly 600 cinemas across the United States and Canada.

Over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, the special screenings drew huge crowds.

Ticket sales climbed to an estimated $25 million in that short window.
