A new Kickstarter campaign is now backing the production of Track Quest, an electronic music–themed board game developed by Aulart.

The project introduces a playful way to explore nearly six decades of electronic music culture.

The game begins by guiding players through the earliest sounds that helped define electronic music.

It introduces influences like disco and Krautrock, setting the foundation for what comes next.

From there, the journey gradually unfolds.

How to Play Track Quest

Players move deeper into the evolution of the scene, exploring house, techno, and a wide range of other genres along the way.

Each step feels like a progression through time.

Together, these sounds reveal how different styles came together and ultimately shaped the electronic music landscape as we know it today.

As the game unfolds, players actively engage with the evolution of electronic music rather than just observing it.

To play, participants listen to audio clips and place tracks along a chronological timeline.

Meanwhile, hint cards help guide their decisions, though opponents can interfere by muting clues, stealing cards, or activating “panic timers” to disrupt the flow.

In one example, the game references Daft Punk, describing them as a French duo known for performing behind futuristic helmets instead of revealing their identities.

Beyond its core mechanics, Track Quest adds depth through 200 expansion cards.

These cards allow players to shape their own experience by selecting preferred sub-genres and building custom, playlist-style combinations.

Options range from house and techno to drum & bass, dubstep, and trance, giving each session a different feel.

In addition, the game highlights a broader spectrum of electronic music.

It includes styles such as hyperpop, Afro-house, tech-house, IDM, trip-hop, and EBM.

Through this approach, Track Quest creates an interactive journey that blends music knowledge, strategy, and creativity into a single experience.
