DOM Band Debuts with Powerful Rock Single on Gaza 3 OST

A new band has entered the Indonesian music scene, DOM Band.

DOM Band is an Alternative Rock group consisting of Donny (vocals), Adie (guitar), and Emus (bass).

Many Indonesians may already recognize Donny, the band’s vocalist.

Donny Michael is a well-known actor of Indonesian-German descent who has starred in numerous popular soap operas.

Some of them were Nada Cinta, Dia Bukan Cinderella, Anak Jalanan, Badai Pasti Berlalu, Asmara Gen Z, and many more.

The band originally formed in 2016 when Donny and Adie started playing music together.

However, due to busy schedules, they went on hiatus.

Despite the break, Donny explained that he and Adie maintained their friendship.

They continued collaborating on music, especially during the pandemic.

In 2023, they welcomed Emus into the group, officially forming DOM Band.

DOM Band Preparing Their Debut Song

For their debut single, DOM Band chose Terjadi Di Depan Mataku, a song written by Donny, Adie, and Aryani Fitriana.

The track addresses harsh realities we often witness—violence, hunger, and injustice happening right in front of our eyes.

Adie emphasized that these painful events inspired the lyrics and urged listeners not to remain silent in the face of suffering.

Although DOM Band has written many songs, they decided to release this one first because it became part of the original soundtrack for the film Gaza: Hayya 3.

The film features Donny himself alongside his wife Aryani Fitriana, and other actors including Cut Syifa, Oki Setiana Dewi, Arafah Riyanti, and Adhin Abdul Hakim.

Directed by Jastis Arimba and adapted from a novel by Asma Nadia and Helvy Tiana Rosa, the movie premiered in Indonesian cinemas on June 12, 2025.

Emus shared that the band had to compose the song quickly to meet the film’s deadline, but they were pleased with the result.

As a result, they agreed to make it their official debut single.

During the filming process, Donny found inspiration for the lyrics.

He explained that the storyline sparked a deep emotional response, prompting him to write the words immediately.

Adie then composed the melody with support from music producer Dimas Achonk, and they recorded the track right away.

Through their music, DOM Band hopes to express their thoughts and emotions.

They want Indonesian audiences to not only hear their songs but also feel the messages behind them.
