Jati Andito Unveils Debut Single “Cerita Pekerja”

Musician, actor, and voice performer Jati Andito has officially launched his first solo single, “Cerita Pekerja”.

It’s an emotional and honest reflection on the lives of today’s workers.

Now streaming on all major digital platforms, the single marks the beginning of several music releases scheduled for this year.

Motivated by quiet frustration and deep empathy, Jati began writing the song during his time with a media and creative industry labor union from 2017 to 2020.

Then, he further shaped the song through collaborative discussions with the Prakerti Collective Intelligence.

Prakerti Collective Intelligence is a group of academics focused on labor issues.

This creative journey led to the 2025 release of “Cerita Pekerja”. This track gives voice to the struggles of the precariat.

It means a growing class of workers facing unstable jobs, low pay, and persistent anxiety.

The lyrics vividly capture blurred days and nights, creeping unease, and the fading line between work and personal life.

Beneath the somber tone, the song offers a quiet sense of hope.

Sense that inviting solidarity and the dream of a more compassionate future.

Initially, Jati revealed that he struggled to put his thoughts into words.

However, after meeting fellow union members and Prakerti collaborators, he realized he wasn’t alone.

That awareness inspired him to channel these shared experiences into lyrics.

Lyrics that simple enough to sing, yet powerful enough to support each other through music.

Musically, “Cerita Pekerja” blends punk, indie pop, and hints of Brit rock. It creates a heartfelt sound that feels like a long-suppressed cry.

The track is more than just a song—it’s a message of empathy and a call to reimagine what the future of work could look like.

As a tribute to the labor movement, Jati released the official lyric video on May 1, coinciding with International Labour Day.

He also plans to drop a second single in July, a third by November, and a full-length album by the end of 2025.
