BASEJAM has officially released a new version of “Pamer Bojo.”

It serves as their tribute to Didi Kempot, the legendary maestro of Javanese Pop and the beloved Godfather of Broken Heart.

The remake arrives during the month of Didi Kempot’s birth, adding a nostalgic touch for Sobat Ambyar and Indonesian music listeners.

The group decided to re-arrange “Pamer Bojo” to honor Didi Kempot’s major role in bringing Javanese Pop to a global audience, including Suriname.

Creative Process for “Pamer Bojo”

Sita explained that they wanted to preserve the soul of the song while still giving it BASEJAM’s signature touch.

With more than 32 years in the music industry, BASEJAM brought their long-earned experience into this remake.

They crafted it with a fresh, modern Pop arrangement.

Yet, they still preserved the unmistakably medok character that defines Javanese Pop.

The vocal collaboration between Sigit and Alvin introduces a fresh color but still preserves the essence of the original song.

The production process also became a cross-cultural experience.

Artists from different backgrounds came together for this project.

A Sundanese vocalist lent her voice, while a vocal director from Sulawesi shaped the delivery.

The arrangement was crafted by an Ambonese musician, and the final sound was refined by a Batak engineer.

Each of them brought their own cultural color into one collaborative work.

Alsa noted that Pakde Didi still serves as a unifying figure through his music.

For Sigit, who is not a native Javanese speaker, the recording sessions became both a challenge and a learning journey.

He also shared that this was the most medok recording he had ever done.

Behind The Lyrics

The lyrics of “Pamer Bojo” still carry a story everyone knows.

It speaks of heartbreak, the kind that lingers.

At its center is someone who’s unable to move on, still stuck in old feelings.

Meanwhile, the person they once loved has moved forward, finding happiness with someone new.

This theme is what keeps the song close to listeners’ hearts.

The latest version of “Pamer Bojo” is now available on all digital streaming platforms.

BASEJAM hopes this release can bridge modern music with Indonesia’s cultural heritage.

They also see it as a heartfelt tribute to Didi Kempot’s timeless work.
