The Substitute is a new alternative pop-rock band formed after a long creative journey shared by two musicians.
Damon Koeswoyo (guitar, music producer) and Masto Sidharta (drums, music producer) spent years writing songs and working on many projects.
Eventually, they decided to create The Substitute to revive music that feels meaningful, mature, honest, and relevant for today’s listeners.
They released their debut single, “Maybe Someday,” on November 14, 2025, across all major digital platforms.
The song has an interesting history.
Damon, Masto, and their bandmates originally recorded it as a demo in the late ’90s.

Over time, life changed, the group moved in different directions, and some voices never returned.
However, the track now gains a new life through The Substitute.
In the updated version, Legita Putri performs the vocals and adds a new emotional layer that fits the modern era.
The band blends nostalgic melodies, reflective lyrics, and clean modern production.
As a result, the band creates a sound that connects timeless songwriting with today’s musical style.
