Indonesian ska band Skastra has announced its first Japan tour, “Skastra Japan Tour 2026.”
The tour runs four dates across three cities: Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo. It kicks off in July.
The tour marks the band’s first time performing in Japan. It also celebrates the release of Skastra’s album “Metanoia” on 12-inch vinyl.
Guitarist Fazrin “Adin” Mustakin calls the tour a key moment for the band’s international standing.
Japan has shaped much of Skastra’s sound over the years, so the tour doubles as a direct thank-you to that influence.
The Metanoia Album’s Japan Connection
Skastra released “Metanoia” on December 1, 2023. The album marked eight years of the band’s musical journey.
It carries nine tracks and takes its name from an ancient Greek word meaning “change.” Fans embraced it warmly, both in Indonesia and abroad.
Two tracks, one from “Metanoia” and one from an earlier album, later released in Japan to a strong response.
That reception set the stage for the tour. Ska fans in Japan are ready for Skastra’s signature tempo and rhythm.
Japan and “Metanoia” share a connection that goes back to the album’s creation.
The cover art shows a man playing guitar inside a train car, with running text above him reading “Next Stop: Japan.”
Adin says he never imagined the album would actually release in Japan, let alone lead to live shows there.
The cover became a kind of manifestation for the band, and it came true.

Skastra Release The Vinyl Through Big Romantic Records
The band partnered again with Tokyo-based independent label Big Romantic Records for the “Metanoia” vinyl release, following the same route as previous releases.
The 12-inch pressing carries ten tracks: “Oh Malam,” “Fantasia,” “Hujan Deras,” “Penjelajah,” “Pelabuhan Terakhir,” “Matahari,” “Derai,” “Ria,” “Suatu Pagi,” and “Endorfin.”
“Hujan Deras” leads the release as the flagship single. The vinyl format gives it a warmer, more immersive sound.
Vocalist Alduri Asfirna (Ina) says the 2026 Japan tour and the 12-inch vinyl release do more than mark a musical milestone.
Together, they build a cultural bridge between Indonesia’s and Japan’s independent music communities.
Before heading to Japan, Skastra will hold a showcase in Jakarta this June.
The band will also drop exclusive merchandise for fans, especially the group known as Muda-Mudi Skastra.
After returning from Japan, the band plans to release “Metanoia” on CD.
Skastra’s lineup includes Alduri Asfirna (vocals), Ibrahim Rahman (drums), Rasmana Raga (bass), Adi Ahdiat (guitar), Fazrin Mustakin (guitar), Hanung T. Wibawa (keyboard), and Taufiq Alkatiri (trumpet).
