Mike Posner is inviting electronic music producers to put their own spin on his latest single, “I Went Back to Ibiza.”
The singer-songwriter has launched a remix contest for the track. Producers are free to reinterpret it in their own style.
The song serves as the follow-up to one of Mike Posner’s biggest crossover hits.
Mike Posner Invites Producers to Remix His New Single
Released in February, “I Went Back to Ibiza” serves as the spiritual follow-up to “I Took a Pill in Ibiza.”
The original song became a worldwide hit after Seeb transformed it into an official remix in 2015.
That remix has since surpassed two billion streams and turned Posner’s acoustic songwriting into one of the most recognizable dance-pop tracks of the decade.
Like its predecessor, “I Went Back to Ibiza” was originally released as a stripped-back acoustic song instead of a fully produced dance record.
That approach gives producers plenty of creative freedom to build their own versions.
Posner has already teamed up with David Guetta for an official remix. Now, he is opening the door for producers around the world to do the same.
Speaking about the contest, Posner encouraged producers to stay true to their own creative style and share their interpretations of the song.
