How Natasya Elvira Inspired to Write “Kutukan”

Natasya revealed that Kutukan came from a deeply personal moment.

She explained that she had been in an unstable emotional state, often trapped in the same loop, when the idea struck.

Early in 2025, during a late-night burst of inspiration, both lyrics and melody flowed together in just one hour.

She noted that, compared to Societeit’s previous EP, this narrative felt raw and unfiltered.

Purely reflecting her confusion in communicating with a certain person.

Misunderstandings often occurred, with intentions and interpretations clashing, which led to frequent arguments.

Natasya presented the familiar theme of toxic relationships in a fresh way through her emotional honesty while keeping her signature vintage sound.

Writing the lyrics herself, she captured the duality between passionate love and inevitable pain, making the song resonate with many listeners.

She admitted that the song began simply, with basic chords, but she anticipated changes once Societeit played it.

Working with Societeit de Harmonie

Natasya entrusted the early material to producer Pradhana Setya Kusuma

He agreed to include it in Societeit’s Bilangan-Ulangan album featuring her.

She highlighted how Gomez elevated the song’s meaning and showcased the unsettling nature of toxic relationships through his arrangements.

While Andy’s piano playing mirrored the breath and heartbeat of a turbulent romance.

Beyond writing and singing, Natasya also acted as the project manager for Kutukan.

She shared that handling multiple roles only deepened her attachment and emotional connection to the project.

With guidance from Pradhana and support from the team, including Anggita Chandra Utama, she ensured that every detail was crafted with heart.

Through Kutukan, Natasya aimed to send a powerful message to those trapped in toxic relationships.

She hoped listeners would first become aware of their situation, even before deciding right or wrong.

She envisioned the track as both a comforting embrace for those feeling alone and a nudge to gain perspective.

Encouraging them either to leave the toxic bond or work toward a healthier connection.

Kutukan is just the beginning.

Natasya revealed that it is part of an upcoming EP, with songs already written but not yet ready for release.

She invited fans to enjoy this single while awaiting their next project.

With Kutukan, Natasya Elvira and Societeit de Harmonie deliver not just a song, but an emotional experience.

One that invites listeners to feel the pain, face the truth, and find strength in vulnerability.

Available on all streaming platforms, the single proves that music can be both a mirror and a balm for the restless soul.
