The Rainforest Pavilion is set to return to Wonderfruit Festival Thailand from December 14 to 17, 2017.
This unique music stage showcases forward-thinking electronic sounds.
It carries a clear message about protecting tropical rainforests.
At the same time, it highlights Indonesia’s rich cultural diversity.
The Joy Collective created the pavilion to bring Indonesian creativity to Thailand and to make rainforest conservation engaging for millennials.
During the festival, audiences can experience performances from DJs Alex Joy and Halim Ardie in the open fields of Wonderfruit.
About Wonderfruit
Meanwhile, Wonderfruit continues to shape its identity as Thailand’s pioneering sustainable and cross-cultural festival.
Rooted in art, music, and ideas, the event has now revealed several final additions for this year’s edition.
These new elements further strengthen the festival’s reputation as a platform for innovation and meaningful experiences.
Wonderfruit’s lineup just got even bigger.
Legendary names like Richie Hawtin and Roots Manuva are now officially joining the bill.
They will share the spotlight with Wild Beasts and the reggae vibes of Chronixx & Zincfence Redemption.
Finally, Craig Richards rounds out this impressive list of live acts.
At the same time, the festival will offer interactive daytime activities for all ages at Camp Wonder, The FARMacy, and Wonder Garden.
This year, Wonderfruit moves beyond the conventional festival format by uniting immersive experiences across six core pillars.
Through this approach, the festival aims to inspire, develop, and promote sustainable solutions that create a positive impact on the planet.
The Fields at Siam Country Club will once again host the magic of Wonderfruit.
This fourth edition marks a major milestone for the festival.
It returns with a fresh perspective and a commitment to sustainability that is stronger than ever before.
Rainforest Pavilion from Indonesia
Revamped by The Joy Collective, the Rainforest Pavilion will serve as a sanctuary for transformational activities and music from Indonesia and beyond.
The pavilion dedicates its entire program to rainforest preservation.
The lineup features Indonesian DJ Ninda Felina from Greenpeace’s Save Our Sounds.
She creates a unique experience by blending pristine recordings from the Papuan rainforest with electronic music.
The lineup also features DJ Mikey Moran, a Jakarta-based Go-Jek founder, as well as Alex Joy, who reunites with his brother Taro as the Joy Brothers.
In addition, (re)set will showcase Bali’s late-night scene, highlighted by a Friday performance from Ricardo WHO?.

Simply by attending, visitors contribute to real conservation efforts, whether they realize it or not.

His work has been showcased in major cities around the world, including Hong Kong, Paris, and Bangkok.
His creative vision adds a global artistic dimension to the pavilion.
He focuses on the interaction between light and matter and how it influences human perception.
Alongside his work, the pavilion will feature drone footage captured during Joy Collective expeditions in Sumatra.
Indonesian visual pioneer LATEX will artistically reimagine this footage to create a powerful visual narrative of the rainforests.

Fundraising Efforts by Rainforest Pavilion
At the previous edition of Wonderfruit, the Rainforest Pavilion generated profits from drink and merchandise sales.
Those funds made a real impact, allowing the purchase of one hectare of rainforest land.
The land is now under permanent protection through Cuipo.
This year, The Joy Collective is partnering with the Seraya Education Project.
The initiative aims to develop West Kalimantan by creating world-class educational facilities.
Together, they hope to make a lasting impact on the region’s future.
The project raises funds by activating the natural capital of rainforests.
Founder David Bertrand will present the initiative to blockchain and cryptocurrency organizations.
These groups are looking to support green projects around the world.
He will use Wonderfruit as a global meeting point to connect and showcase the project.
Raising Awareness from Rainforest Pavilion
Guided by the mission of saving rainforests one dance floor at a time, The Joy Collective uses the pavilion to spotlight critical environmental causes.
One initiative shines a spotlight on the work of Dr. David Gaveau from CIFOR.
His Atlas project develops interactive maps that track deforestation.
These maps allow consumers to see the environmental impact caused by major corporations.
Another program introduces a digital orangutan adoption campaign, where participants receive a recycled wooden figurine with a unique QR code. T
his code unlocks a digital profile, educates users about the species, and encourages them to share awareness online.
In collaboration with Greenpeace, the pavilion offers an interactive installation.
This experience allows attendees to hear the endangered sounds of the Papuan rainforests.
It immerses visitors in the rich and fragile acoustic world of these ecosystems.
Interactivity in Rainforest Pavilion
Designed as a fully immersive installation, the Rainforest Pavilion recreates the sensation of entering a real rainforest.
From natural soundscapes to tropical plants, the environment invites visitors to engage with nature.
During the day, workshops focus on wellness, environmental education, and creative music skills.
At night, the space transforms into a vibrant music venue where people dance while surrounded by the sights and sounds of the rainforest.
