On November 29, 2017, ISMAYA Live held a press conference to unveil details for Djakarta Warehouse Project 2017 (DWP 2017), presented by NEWLAND ID.
The ninth edition of the festival was scheduled to take place at JIEXPO Kemayoran on December 15–16, continuing its legacy as one of Asia’s leading electronic music events.
During the session, Assistant Brand Manager Sarah Deshita shared insights into what fans could expect.
“This year, we have lots of surprises. We also released a festival trailer. You will notice the differences between this year and last year,” she said.
The previous edition had already set a high benchmark, drawing 90,000 attendees and becoming the largest two-day festival in Asia.
Despite discussions about extending the event to three days, the team decided to keep the format.
“There are talks about making this year festival to 3 days, but we decided to keep it for 2 days. So we can keep up for something for the 10th anniversary,” she added.
The festival remained at JIEXPO Kemayoran due to its accessibility, ample parking, and proximity to hotels.
Meanwhile, one of its signature areas, Garudha Land, would return with a new identity as Garudha Bot, signaling a fresh visual direction.

New Shows at DWP 2017
DWP17 also introduced a notable shift in its programming.
For the first time, hip-hop acts joined the lineup, with artists from 88rising scheduled to perform on Day 2.
Performances from Desiigner and other acts aimed to broaden the festival’s musical spectrum and appeal to a wider audience.
Another highlight came through a special collaboration with Elrow.
“The Elrow Stage will have theme called Psychedelic Trip. It will be cool production!” Sarah explained.
To accommodate this concept, the organizers planned to transform Stage 3 entirely on the second day, creating an immersive experience distinct from other areas of the festival.
When asked why fans should attend, Sarah pointed to the lineup’s diversity.
“In terms of performers this year, the lineup is very diverse in music genre. If you are a music lover, you definitely should come this year!” she said.
With its evolving concept, expanded genres, and ambitious stage designs, DWP 2017 positioned itself as more than just a continuation.
It aimed to redefine the festival experience while setting the stage for its milestone 10th anniversary.
