Martin Garrix has released a new collaboration with U2 titled Fireflies.
The single marks the first time Garrix has worked on a track featuring all four members of the legendary rock band.
According to the Dutch producer, he began developing the song six years ago before finally releasing it this week.
Garrix premiered Fireflies at Tomorrowland alongside U2 guitarist The Edge before making it available on streaming platforms.
Martin Garrix Reflects on the Collaboration
Speaking about the project, Martin Garrix said working with the full band gave him a deeper appreciation for U2’s creative chemistry.
He explained that he had previously collaborated with Bono and The Edge.
This time, however, he had the opportunity to experience how all four members work together in the studio.
The Edge also reflected on the collaboration.
He said U2 and Garrix have built a strong relationship over the years and always enjoy exploring new musical ideas together.
He added that performing Fireflies for the first time at Tomorrowland in front of thousands of fans made the experience even more memorable.

A Long-Running Creative Partnership
Fireflies opens with gentle guitar melodies and Bono’s intimate vocals.
The track gradually builds through driving drums and pulsing basslines before reaching Martin Garrix’s signature festival sound.
The release continues a creative partnership that has developed over several years.
Garrix originally wrote Scars as a demo before U2 later reworked it for the band’s 2026 EP Easter Lily.
He also co-produced Your Song Saved My Life for the Sing 2 soundtrack in 2021.
Earlier, in 2019, Garrix collaborated with Bono and The Edge on We Are The People, the official song for the UEFA European Football Championship.
