Young Indonesian singer Elsa Japasal once again shares her distinctive voice with the local music scene through her second single, Buku Karangan.

She released the song on December 17, just before the end of the year.

This release continues her musical journey after her debut single, Pernah Dicinta.

Through this new track, Elsa Novi Bani Japasal also aims to show her vocal growth and wider range.

She remains within the pop genre, as she feels most comfortable and expressive in this style.

However, the singer, who was born on November 14, 2001, remains open to exploring other genres in the future to expand her musical horizons.

Songwriter Bagas Ran created Buku Karangan, and Elsa chose it as her latest single because it closely reflects her personal experiences.

Elsa Japasal and The Story Behind The Song

The song tells the story of having feelings for someone who is ultimately out of reach.

It portrays a one-sided love that continues, even though the outcome is clear from the beginning.

The story feels beautiful, yet it exists only in imagination.

Like a vivid story written in the mind, reality eventually leaves a sense of sadness.

From this contrast between hope and reality, the title Buku Karangan was born.

During the production process, Elsa faced her biggest challenge in managing a packed schedule.

At the same time, she was also preparing for a film shoot.

In addition, the song demanded deeper vocal exploration compared to her first single.

Fortunately, vocal director Kamga guided her throughout the process and helped her explore her full potential.

Hope for The Song

Through Buku Karangan, Elsa hopes the song can accompany listeners who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, unreturned love.

While such feelings may seem beautiful, the song gently reminds listeners that they live only in imagination.

Eventually, everyone must return to reality, a message that Elsa conveys through the song’s lyrics.

So far, Elsa has enjoyed her musical journey, including being selected for Spotify RADAR Indonesia 2025.

What once began as a hobby has now grown into a professional career.

She sees this transition as both valuable and challenging.

Looking ahead, Elsa hopes to continue growing, take creative risks, and further sharpen her musical talent.

Her second single, Buku Karangan, is now available on various digital music platforms.
