
Prince Kaybee has entered a new phase in his career by joining global electronic music label PLAYY. Records.
The signing coincides with the release of his latest single, “Heno Babayo,” which arrived on June 26, 2026.
Prince Kaybee previously released music through Universal Music South Africa.
Now, the acclaimed DJ and producer continues to expand Afro house’s global reach while staying true to its African roots.
Prince Kaybee Continues to Champion Afro House
Over the years, Prince Kaybee has established himself as one of South Africa’s leading electronic music artists.
Platinum-selling singles including “Club Controller,” “Banomoya,” and “Uwrongo” have helped introduce Afro house to wider audiences.
“Uwrongo” also earned international recognition after appearing on TIME Magazine‘s list of the 10 Best Songs of 2020.
His catalog also features collaborations with artists such as Lady Zamar, Busiswa, TNS, Shimza, Black Motion, and Ami Faku, reinforcing his influence across the South African dance music scene.
Prince Kaybee’s career began to accelerate after winning the South African DJ and production competition Masters of Spin in 2015.
The victory opened the door to the country’s music industry and marked the beginning of his rise as a prominent Afro house artist.
Since then, he has earned multiple honors, including South African Music Awards for Male Artist of the Year, Best Dance Album, and Album of the Year.
He also won Best Dance Album at the Metro FM Music Awards.
In addition, he earned multiple Song of the Year honors at the DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards.
His work also gained international recognition through the Soundcity MVP Awards Festival and the African Muzik Magazine Awards.
Before pursuing music full-time, Prince Kaybee, born Kabelo Motsamai, dreamed of becoming a professional football player with Bloemfontein Celtic.
A knee injury ended those ambitions and ultimately led him toward music, inspired by his father’s collection of African classics and traditional jazz recordings.
