HEDEGAARD has revealed “Monolith,” a new collaboration with MOGUAI and Brandon Beal, as the latest preview of his upcoming KIN album.
The release also introduces the first four tracks from the project alongside the opening episodes of its companion documentary series.
HEDEGAARD previously released “Say My Name” with Arash and announced Western China’s Melody.
He now continues to expand one of his most ambitious creative projects to date.
HEDEGAARD Explores Tradition Through “Monolith”
“Monolith” blends HEDEGAARD’s signature “Car Music” sound with cinematic arrangements, powerful basslines, and musical influences inspired by traditional Chinese culture.
Brandon Beal contributes the track’s rhythmic vocal performance, while MOGUAI adds his distinctive electronic production style.
The result brings together contemporary dance music and centuries-old musical traditions, reflecting the cross-cultural vision behind the KIN project.

Inspiration From Western China
HEDEGAARD created the 10-track album while traveling across Western China.
Each song draws inspiration from a different province, with “Monolith” representing the first chapter of the series.
During the accompanying documentary episode, HEDEGAARD explores the region’s culture and learns about the traditional Tibetan circle dance.
He also meets Tibetan couple Nyima Lobsang and Gelsang Tsering, whose traditional love songs became one of the key musical foundations of “Monolith.”
The production also incorporates field recordings, traditional instruments, regional musical influences, and collaborations with local musicians.
HEDEGAARD reinterprets those elements through a modern electronic music approach.
KIN Combines Music and Documentary Storytelling
Beyond the album itself, Western China’s Melody documents the creative journey behind every track.
Each episode corresponds to a song on KIN, highlighting the landscapes, communities, musical collaborations, and cultural experiences that shaped the project.
The documentary also captures spontaneous recording sessions, personal reflections, and encounters with local musicians, offering a behind-the-scenes perspective on the album’s development.
The first four songs and documentary episodes are now available, marking the opening half of the multimedia project.
The remaining tracks and episodes will be released later this month to complete the full campaign.
HEDEGAARD has continued to build a strong connection with Chinese audiences following releases such as “NYC BABY” and “BEIJING BABY.”
Through KIN and Western China’s Melody, he further explores that relationship while demonstrating how electronic music can connect different cultures through collaboration and shared creativity.
