The Perahu Kertas Musical has officially released two original soundtrack recordings that bring its beloved story back to life.
The production features “Dua Manusia,” performed by Maudy Ayunda, and “Langit Amat Indah,” recorded by the female trio Sistur.
Both songs accompany the stage musical.
It was staged at Ciputra Artpreneur in Jakarta from 30 January to 15 February 2026, with a total of 21 performances.
The recordings revisit two songs from the 2012 Perahu Kertas film. Dendy Mikes originally performed “Dua Manusia.”
The legendary trio Rida, Sita, Dewi first recorded “Langit Amat Indah.”
The new versions stand as independent recordings while connecting the Perahu Kertas story across its novel, film, and musical adaptations.
Perahu Kertas Brings Maudy Ayunda Back to the Story
Maudy Ayunda performs a new version of “Dua Manusia” from a female perspective.
She developed the concept alongside Dewi Lestari.
The project also reunited her with producer Mikha Angelo, a longtime collaborator on several of her previous releases.
Together, they created a fresh arrangement that preserves the song’s original character while introducing a more contemporary musical approach.
The production also gives Maudy greater space to express her own vocal interpretation.
The release marks a full-circle moment for Maudy, who previously portrayed Kugy in the Perahu Kertas film and performed several songs from its soundtrack.
Her return reflects her continued support for the franchise while introducing the story to a new generation of audiences.
Maudy said recording “Dua Manusia” again felt deeply personal.
She explained that the song was originally written from a male perspective, but performing it as a woman who also grew up with the Perahu Kertas story made the experience feel like coming home.
She also described working again with Dewi Lestari and Mikha Angelo as especially meaningful.

Sistur Gives “Langit Amat Indah” a New Interpretation
The second soundtrack, “Langit Amat Indah,” receives a fresh interpretation from Sistur, consisting of Tarrarin, T. Rucira, and Jubilee Marissa.
Rather than changing the lyrics, the trio chose a softer semi-acoustic arrangement.
They slowed the tempo and highlighted each member’s distinctive vocal style to create a more intimate listening experience.
T. Rucira opens the song with her rich lower register, while Tarrarin’s mezzo vocals add warmth throughout the middle section.
Jubilee completes the arrangement with soaring higher notes, creating balanced three-part harmonies across the track.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Tarrarin said the lyrics remain unchanged while the arrangement adopts a more restrained approach.
She added that the semi-acoustic style allows listeners to focus more closely on the song’s lyrical message.
Classic Songs Return for a New Generation
According to Trinity Optima Production, the new recordings demonstrate how songs supported by strong storytelling can remain relevant across generations.
They also show how those songs can continue to thrive across different creative formats.
Simhala Avadana, Senior A&R at Trinity Optima Production, said Perahu Kertas continues to have lasting appeal.
He believes songs built around compelling stories can endure across generations.
The Perahu Kertas Musical’s two official soundtracks have been available on all major digital streaming platforms since 6 February 2026.
They feature “Dua Manusia” by Maudy Ayunda and “Langit Amat Indah” by Sistur.
