This might sound a little biased—but honestly, we just want to celebrate this rare and magical moment from Tiesto.
A few months ago, we heard the news: Tiesto would close EDC 2025 on the kineticFIELD stage with an In Search of Sunrise set. Our first reaction was, “Wait, seriously?”
We scoured YouTube and social media for a full video. So far, Tiesto had only uploaded his Circuit Ground set. But we were determined. For In Search of Sunrise, we kept digging—until we finally found it.
Clips of the set circulated online, and yes—it was as thrilling as expected.

Tiesto: A Fitting Choice for the Final Act
Tiesto was the perfect artist to close the festival. The name says it all: In Search of Sunrise. He performed until dawn, and the symbolism couldn’t be more perfect.
He played for 77 minutes, weaving in 19 tracks from across the In Search of Sunrise album series.
He opened with York – Reachers Of Civilisation (Tiësto Remix), the first track from In Search of Sunrise 1. For the closer, he picked Manila Rising – Beyond The Stars, the final track on In Search of Sunrise 7 (Asia).
From beginning to end, he led us on a heartfelt journey through his Trance legacy.

A Long-Awaited Return to Trance
Even though Tiesto has moved on to different sounds over the years, he never fully abandoned Trance. He often slips in classics during his modern sets.
But to see him play an entire Trance set, at sunrise, on EDC’s main stage—this wasn’t on anyone’s 2025 bingo card.
We felt both excitement and skepticism. After all, it’s been years since he played this kind of set. Could he still capture the magic of those legendary albums?

The Answer: He Delivered
As the sun slowly rose, the stage lights pulsed wildly—welcoming the morning alongside us. The tempo picked up, and so did the crowd’s energy.
By the time the final track ended and daylight fully arrived, we realized we had just experienced a complete musical journey.
We felt deep nostalgia, but also admiration—he hasn’t lost his magical touch.
Will this signal a full return to Trance? Maybe. Maybe not.
But for now, this set was everything we hoped for—and more. A beautiful tribute to the Tiesto we once knew, and proof that his legacy still burns bright.
