After a long journey of crafting new material, Float has officially released its latest EP, ‘Constant Changes’.

The release also features the band’s new single, ‘Yang Kembali Pulih’, a track built around resilience and recovery.

With the new single, Float refuses to simply dwell on pain. ‘Yang Kembali Pulih’ offers more than passive comfort.

The track becomes a musical shield and source of strength for anyone willing to stand tall, embrace their wounds, and face life’s storms amid uncertainty.

Float Builds ‘Constant Changes’ Around Recovery

The song serves as an early foundation for the EP, which the band developed during the post-pandemic transition in 2023.

Float vocalist and songwriter Hotma “Meng” Roni Simamora explained that the track takes inspiration from the idea of scars.

For Meng, scars that have been washed by faith can symbolize strength.

The difficult moments in life can also become the foundation for a stronger recovery.

Through that perspective, the song encourages listeners not to let anxiety become an obstacle and to find the courage to face their own storms.

The band translates that spirit through its arrangement and rhythmic exploration.

Bassist Binsar Tobing explained that the creative process captured the dynamics of human struggle.

The song originally came from a voice note recorded by Meng in 2021. Binsar then experimented with a minimalist yet powerful bass approach.

He wanted the bass to create a solid foundation that could push against the feeling of doubt.

The Band Explores the Struggle Through Drums

Drummer Timur Segara approached the song from a different rhythmic perspective.

The drum arrangement went through creative debates during the recording process, eventually strengthening the track’s emotional character.

The early arrangement initially carried a grand atmosphere.

Once Meng completed the lyrics, however, the drum performance from the first take felt too wild to some members of the band.

The band eventually decided to keep that approach. For them, recovery from a wound does not happen instantly.

It involves struggle, emotional turmoil, and difficult moments.

The raw drum performance ultimately became one of the strongest representations of the song’s message.

Its intensity reflects the spirit of getting back up and facing the storm.

An Optimistic Guitar Approach Shapes the EP

Guitarist Davin Qlintang also helped complete the EP’s musical direction.

He explained that his guitar parts generally follow or adapt to the rhythm, theme, and patterns of each song.

That approach becomes particularly clear on ‘Yang Kembali Pulih’.

The guitar arrangement follows the track’s rhythmic patterns while supporting its overall sense of optimism and energy.

Float Brings ‘Constant Changes’ to Float to Nature

The release of ‘Constant Changes’ and ‘Yang Kembali Pulih’ also comes with an event called Float to Nature.

The event gives Float an opportunity to create a closer space for interaction with its listeners, known as Floatmates.

The three-day, two-night event celebrates the new EP while bringing Floatmates together under the open sky.

Attendees can also get a physical cassette edition of ‘Constant Changes’ during the event.

Float’s latest EP ‘Constant Changes’ and its new single ‘Yang Kembali Pulih’ are now available across digital streaming platforms in Indonesia.

Through the release, Float invites listeners to embrace their wounds, find their courage, and face life’s storms together.
