The Jakarta-based jazz duo ArumtaLa has built a strong reputation for delivering jazz with a unique, personal touch.
Members Arini Kumara and Laura Pradipta often draw inspiration from daily life, blending mature themes with a witty, honest delivery.
To kick off 2026, the duo has released a brand-new track titled “Salam Sehat.”
Written by Arini, the song finds its spark in the massive fitness phenomenon currently sweeping across Indonesia.
A Witty Take on Modern Lifestyle
Arini couldn’t help but notice a massive shift in how people live their lives lately.
She observed a sudden, intense obsession with fitness appearing everywhere she looked.
he obsession spans from local neighborhoods to the international stage.
Some fans are now playing Padel three times a day, turning the sport into a full-time lifestyle.
Others have set their sights even further, crossing oceans to participate in prestigious marathons and pushing the limits of global travel.
While some seek a healthier lifestyle, she observed that others hit the gym simply to stay relevant on social media.
This observation inspired her to write a song that captures the trend.
Consequently, “Salam Sehat” offers a light, relatable Swing Jazz experience that warms the heart while poking gentle fun at our modern habits.

An Ambitious Musical Production from ArumtaLa
Although Arini wrote the lyrics and melody in less than twenty minutes, the production process was incredibly detailed.
She described the track as one of ArumtaLa’s most ambitious projects.
Specifically, she envisioned a complex arrangement that combined the elegance of a Big Band with the energy of a Marching Band.
To achieve this, the team had to carefully manage transitions and find musicians capable of playing across both formats.
Every detail, from the recording sessions to the final mix, received meticulous attention.
A Global Collaboration
The release also brings exciting news regarding the duo’s partnership.
While Laura currently resides in the United States, she plans to return to Indonesia soon.
Despite the distance, the pair continues to work toward a full 11-track album scheduled for late 2026.
The making of this track involved a sophisticated remote recording setup.
The process began with Laura recording her parts in America.
The final pieces of the musical puzzle came together across West Java.
In Jakarta, the rhythm section recorded their parts live to ensure a raw, authentic groove.
This was perfectly complemented by the brass section in Bandung, whose contributions added the necessary flair to finish the ambitious production.
Even the promotional photos were a cross-continental effort, featuring outdoor shots from America and indoor shots from Jakarta.
A Proven Track Record of Success for ArumtaLa
Since forming in August 2023, ArumtaLa has enjoyed a steady rise in the music industry.

That song eventually won the “Sobat Musik Choice” award at the 2025 Indomusik Awards.
“Salam Sehat” is now available on all major digital streaming platforms.
