Marcell Siahaan released his second religious single, “Menuju Cahaya,” on February 26, 2026.
Earlier, in 2024, he introduced “Tawakal.” Once again, he wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and arranged the track on his own.
He also produced the song under his independent label, Ruang Menyusui Records, alongside MKH Publishing.
Creative Process from Marcell Siahaan and Team
In the studio, Marcell worked with a strong team of musicians.
Yusuf Effendi Hadiyanto handled the vocal recording at Ruang Menyusui Studio.
Meanwhile, Gatot Alindo played both acoustic and electric guitar, Ivan Alidiyan contributed keyboards and synthesizers, and Stefanus Adi Wibowo directed the vocals.
Lawrence “Random” Widarto completed the process through mixing and mastering.
In addition, Marcell’s wife, Rima Melati Adams, added a poetic English spoken part.
Marcell shared that Rima delivered the lines with the best fluency and pronunciation at home.
Through its lyrics, “Menuju Cahaya” explores a human inner journey.
It tells the story of a moment when someone stops seeing themselves as the center and begins moving toward something greater.
Rather than focusing on achievement, the song highlights release.
It does not aim to prove what is right, but encourages honesty and surrender.
This idea draws from the concept of Tazkiyatun Nafs, or the purification of the soul.
The message connects closely with teachings found in the Qur’an. It reflects a deeper perspective on what success truly means.
Rather than coming from external validation or recognition, true success begins from within.
It grows from the courage to look inward, to reflect, and ultimately to cleanse the heart.
In this song, “light” does not symbolize instant success or personal glory.
Instead, it represents a destination, something to approach, not to possess.
Therefore, the lyrics avoid ego and focus on the act of walking forward with humility, free from the need for recognition.

New Musical Approach
Musically, Marcell builds the track with a minimalist and repetitive structure.
The repeated lines feel like a quiet prayer, spoken slowly and with intention.
This approach reflects how self-purification is not a one-time event, but a continuous process.
In the end, “Menuju Cahaya” does not act as a preachy religious statement.
Rather, it creates a space for reflection, where one accepts limitations, lets go of self-justification, and keeps moving forward with honesty.
Interestingly, this release also introduces a strong electronic touch.
Marcell intentionally shaped the arrangement in a different way while preserving its core spirit.
He explained that this direction aims to reach a wider and more diverse audience.
He hopes listeners can connect with both the music and lyrics at any time, without waiting for specific moments.
Ultimately, he sees self-purification as a journey worth embracing by anyone, anywhere, and at any time.
