Newcomer singer Pink Tomiyang has officially introduced his debut work to the public.

The single, “Kasih (ibuprofen) Tak Sampai,” released simultaneously across all digital music platforms.

The electro pop ballad grew out of Pink Tomiyang’s personal experience losing his mother.

He wrote it as a form of self-healing. In his words, the longing still hasn’t faded.

He dedicates the work to healing the wound and longing that never quite went away after losing his mother, calling it medicine for himself.

Ahead of the release, Pink Tomiyang admits to feeling a mix of nervousness and heavy thought.

This single marks his first introduction to Indonesian music listeners. At the same time, it carries the most personal story of his life.

“Kasih (ibuprofen) Tak Sampai” draws purely from Pink Tomiyang’s own experience, without borrowing from anyone else’s story.

The song’s central image comes from a simple yet emotionally heavy moment: driving home alone after visiting his mother’s grave.

He describes a feeling that’s hard to explain, one that only people who have lost someone they love can truly understand.

Sitting in the car, driving alone after leaving the cemetery, that’s the picture the song paints.

The Meaning Behind the Song

For Pink Tomiyang, the mother-child theme felt right.

The sense of loss at the heart of the story can only truly be understood by those who’ve experienced a major loss in their own lives.

That understanding comes complete with the shadow of “if only it hadn’t happened.”

The title itself, meaning “love that never arrived,” points to one hope: that his mother could still be there to witness his dreams come true.

The deepest message Pink Tomiyang wants to convey through this song stays simple yet direct: cherish time with loved ones while that chance still exists.

The lyric-writing process drew from simple memories: his mother’s smile, the scent of her cooking, the new clothes she once gave.

Things that felt ordinary at the time now carry deep meaning after his mother’s passing.

The line “Kau jadi rumah yang tak bisa kumasuki lagi” captures the distance now separating Tomiyang from his mother.

Prayers can still be offered in that state. A physical embrace, though, is no longer possible.

Meanwhile, the line “Aku simpan kau di ruang yang tak bernama” grew out of Tomiyang’s own struggle to name his emotions.

Anger, resentment, disappointment, or heartbreak, he couldn’t settle on just one.

He eventually gathered them all into a single phrase: love that never arrived.

The Journey Behind Debut Single

The heavy use of metaphor throughout the lyrics, according to Tomiyang, reflects his own personal character.

He isn’t used to expressing feelings outright, yet he understands the meaning behind small gestures of care.

It took Pink Tomiyang more than 10 months to finish writing the song and find the right feeling for it.

He admits the biggest challenge was pouring the full weight of his grief into the work.

Musically, the arrangement leans on harmony, letting emotion and loss merge beautifully between the music and the vocals.

He recalls crying during every vocal recording session, his voice trembling and his throat aching as he held back tears that kept wanting to fall.

That moment, according to Pink Tomiyang, became the most memorable part of the recording process.

It was there that he finally found the balance of tone and music that best represented his feelings.

As a newcomer to Indonesia’s music industry, Tomiyang wants to introduce values of balance and simplicity through his work.

He believes the simplest things can feel most precious once they’re gone

He chose the pop ballad genre because it aligns with his musical spirit, with honesty and loyalty as values he hopes to carry into every future work.

Pink Tomiyang, From Dance Community Founder to Singer

Before becoming known as a singer, Pink Tomiyang was already known as the founder of Pink Print Team (PPT).

The dance community has grown into a space for many musicians with dance backgrounds. He has nurtured it for 10 years since its founding.

Stepping into singing, he admits, felt like answering a calling, a long-held desire he’s only now been able to realize.

Pink Tomiyang hopes “Kasih (IBU) Tak Sampai” can become a companion for anyone searching for healing from loss.

He also hopes it reminds every child to cherish and value time with their mother while that time still remains.
