Nearly three decades after their last collaboration, BT and Sasha have reunited on a new release.

Their previous connection dates back to 1997, when Sasha appeared on BT’s epic 12-minute version of “Remember.”

The reunion happened unexpectedly. Sasha contacted BT last year and asked for the original stems of “Mercury & Solace.”

After debuting the remix during his live sets in late 2025, the track quickly became a fan favorite.

Growing demand for an official release has now been answered through Black Hole Recordings.

Originally released in 1999 on BT’s album Moments In Still Life, “Mercury & Solace” remains one of the producer’s signature works.

The track blends cinematic production with progressive trance elements and forward-thinking sound design.

Although BT has never fully explained the meaning behind the song’s title, it has remained one of the most recognizable releases in his catalog.

Sasha Reimagines “Mercury & Solace” from BT

For his reinterpretation, Sasha reshapes several key elements of the original production.

Sasha highlights the opening vocal chants from the original track.

Sasha also reworks Jan Johnson’s iconic “reach out for me” vocal. He stretches and dubs the vocal passages throughout the remix.

He also slows the overall pace of the track.

At the same time, he strengthens the bassline and replaces BT’s original hi-hats with funk-inspired percussion.

These production changes create a deeper atmosphere while preserving the emotional character of the original recording.

The remix marks a notable moment for progressive house fans.

Sasha’s new version of BT’s “Mercury & Solace” is now available on digital streaming platforms.
