WIJAYA80 continues its musical journey in 2026 with the release of “Lagu Kenangan.”

Staying true to the band’s signature heartbreak themes, the new single delivers a clear message that alcohol can never heal emotional wounds.

The song also marks WIJAYA80’s first solo release of the year. It follows previous collaborations with Sal Pribadi and Arsy Widianto.

WIJAYA80 Shares an Honest Story of Heartbreak

Ardhito Pramono and Hezky Joe wrote the lyrics with complete honesty.

They leave little room for interpretation, telling a straightforward story about heartbreak and lingering memories.

The song was inspired by Ardhito’s own experience. He recalled unexpectedly seeing his former partner with someone else at a bar.

Although he chose to smile in front of them, the moment left him heartbroken.

After leaving the venue, he tried to ease the pain by drinking.

However, he eventually realized that alcohol could never erase the memories of a past relationship.

Hezky Joe expanded on the idea by explaining that people often rely on different coping mechanisms, whether through food, drinks, or shopping.

Even so, none of them can truly make painful memories disappear.

Inspired by the direct storytelling found in Japanese songwriting, Ardhito and Hezky appointed Erikson Jayanto as the song’s sole producer.

Japanese-style ballad elements shape the musical arrangement and reinforce the song’s emotional atmosphere.

Erikson completed most of the production from a corner of his apartment while overlooking Jakarta’s nighttime skyline.

Hezky also performs a nylon-string guitar solo that highlights the song’s simple production.

Despite its minimalist approach, “Lagu Kenangan” maintains a strong pop-ballad identity.

Fans Helped Bring the Song to Life

Although the song had remained in WIJAYA80’s archives for some time, Hezky believed 2026 was the right moment to release it.

The timing also carries special meaning. June 2026 marks one year since the band first performed “Lagu Kenangan” during several live shows.

Audience recordings from those performances attracted thousands of views on social media, while fans repeatedly asked for an official release.

Encouraged by that response, WIJAYA80 also released an official music video filmed in Japan during 2025.

Ardhito Pramono directed and edited the video, while Dudhy Lisatrio handled cinematography.

Shot on the rainy streets of Tokyo at night, the video stars all members of WIJAYA80, with Erikson Jayanto taking the lead role.

The production embraces a simple approach by using a single camera and capturing the city’s atmosphere with minimal staging.

“Lagu Kenangan” opens a new chapter for WIJAYA80.

The single also sets the stage for the band’s next album, scheduled for release next year.

The single is now available on digital streaming platforms.
