Originally from California, I’MMORTAL spent her childhood and teenage years playing violin in orchestras.
The experience helped her develop composition skills that later became important to her music production.
Her background in theatre also played a role in shaping her artistic identity.
She discovered her passion for singing while performing in high school musicals.
Although she grew up with an appreciation for classical music, I’MMORTAL also developed a strong connection with EDM.
She was drawn to its gritty basslines and synthetic production.
Her audio-visual synesthesia further influences the way she creates.
It allows her to naturally connect imaginative beats with otherworldly visuals.
Her campy visual work often explores themes of death and rebirth, the natural world against artificial constructs, femininity, and her AAPI identity.

I’MMORTAL Reclaims the Unconventional
The concept behind ‘SWAMP MONSTER’ came from John Waters’ film Pink Flamingos.
I’MMORTAL was inspired by how the character Divine uses an embrace of filth as a form of resistance against traditional social expectations.
That idea became the foundation for the new single.
The track explores unconventional sides of identity and encourages listeners to confront the darker and more taboo parts of themselves.
Rather than hiding those elements, I’MMORTAL turns them into a source of strength.
