For the first time, she wrote a song entirely from scratch, an experience that completely changed the way she views songwriting.

Maysha wrote “Kamu Doang” with Roommate Project members Raymond Aditya and Aldi Fachrobby.
The song pairs a story of heartbreak and emotional denial with an upbeat Japanese city pop sound.
The song features groovy rhythms, catchy melodies, and an easy-listening atmosphere.
According to Maysha, the song follows a woman who has grown tired of believing in love because of painful past experiences.
Everything changes when she meets someone who gradually restores her faith in romance.
Even so, she continues to deny her feelings.
Overwhelmed by her emotions, she struggles to accept that she has fallen in love again despite her determination to avoid another heartbreak.
Inspired by Her Own Personality
Maysha admitted the song draws heavily from her own personality.
As a proud Taurus, she described herself as stubborn and reluctant to admit her feelings, especially when it comes to love.
She explained that every sign pointed toward falling in love.
However, her pride kept holding her back from acknowledging those emotions.
The creative process began with a search for the perfect opening line for the chorus.
The team spent time searching for the right opening phrase for the chorus. They eventually settled on “diam-diam.”
The phrase captures the emotions of someone who falls in love but keeps denying those feelings.
They completed the lyrics in around one and a half hours, while the entire songwriting session lasted roughly three hours.
Maysha said the biggest challenge was not writing the lyrics, but deciding which love story best fit the song.

Japanese City Pop Matches the Song’s Mood
Maysha chose Japanese city pop because it has become one of her favorite genres in recent months.
The style also marked her return to upbeat music after releasing several slower songs.
She said the arrangement immediately felt right once the city pop instrumental came together with the rest of the production.
Recording the vocals also introduced a new experience.
Under the guidance of vocal director Mohammed Kamga, Maysha focused on delivering honest emotions rather than technical perfection.
Kamga encouraged her to sing naturally and avoid sounding overly dramatic.
A Music Video from Maysha Jhuan Brings the Story to Life
The official music video expands on the song’s narrative by portraying Maysha’s emotional struggle between accepting love and remaining in denial.
The video follows a man who never gives up on winning Maysha’s heart. As they spend more time together, her hesitation slowly fades.
She finally embraces the feelings she had been denying.
The video was directed by Gaby and David from the production house YOUKNOWWHOFILM.
Maysha hopes “Kamu Doang” resonates with listeners who have struggled to admit their feelings because of pride or past trauma.
If the response is positive, she plans to perform the song live not only in Indonesia but also on international stages.
