Roger Shah has brought back his beloved compilation series with the release of Magic Island – Music For Balearic People 13.
After taking a brief pause, the long-running project returns in 2026 with its signature blend of progressive house, trance, and Balearic influences that have defined the series for more than a decade.
The latest installment once again captures the spirit of summer through melodic textures, sun-soaked atmospheres, and the relaxed energy of coastal escapes.
From beachfront serenity to late-night dancefloor moments, the compilation embraces every shade of the season.
A Collection Built by Roger Shah on Exclusivity
True to tradition, Roger Shah filled this edition entirely with exclusive material.
For Magic Island 13, he reunited many of the artists who have become part of the extended “Balearic People” family over the years.
Familiar names such as Pierre Pienaar, Rafael Osmo, Yelow, Ditoma, Clarks, Aytaro, Spy, and Shah’s own Sunlounger alias all contribute to the collection.
Their combined efforts reinforce the compilation’s identity while introducing fresh perspectives to its established sound.
This year’s release also carries a deeper personal significance.
Roger Shah’s son, Noah Shah, assumes a much larger role in the project.
Three years after making his initial contribution, Noah not only delivers several original productions but also steps into an A&R position.
Roger explained that while he focused much of his attention on the uplifting trance selections featured on the second mix, Noah dedicated himself to discovering promising new artists and standout tracks for the opening half of the compilation.
He noted that the collection also highlights numerous releases from the Magic Island Deep label.
Bringing these different elements together, while shaping them into another summer-inspired journey, proved especially rewarding.

Disc One Captures the Glow of Daylight
The first mix unfolds with the familiar warmth that listeners have come to expect from Magic Island.
Its opening moments feel expansive and unhurried, reflecting the calm optimism of an early summer morning.
Tracks such as Clarks’ Vanuatu, Rafael Osmo’s Over Time You Have Become, and Amir Telem’s Your Heart Knows establish a dreamy progressive atmosphere shaped by gentle melodies and subtle movement.
That reflective mood continues through SidekoDJ’s I’m Lost in Love and Ben Beckman’s Lose Your Mind.
Gradually, the energy begins to shift.
Noah Shah pushes the compilation toward a more direct and club-oriented direction through Your Call and Feel Alright, the latter created alongside NØSH.
The transition feels natural, allowing the mix to evolve without abandoning its Balearic soul.
The emotional tone deepens further with Less Hate More Love, a collaboration involving Sunlounger, MOKX, SaedYm, and 88Birds.
From there, listeners move into darker territory through Ditoma’s Darkest Desires and Icotenai Project’s Destino.
The journey eventually arrives at later highlights, including Katoff’s Burning Shadows, Andy Woldman’s Beyond Your Smile, Roger-M’s Meant To Be, and TRIP RGAZZI’s Leave It All Behind.
Disc Two Embraces the Magic of the Night
If the first mix reflects daylight, the second fully embraces the energy of a Magic Island evening.
The intensity rises. The stylistic palette broadens. The focus shifts skyward.
Roger Shah opens the second chapter with Memories Of Space, a collaboration alongside Kristina Sky and Evan Henzi.
The track immediately introduces a powerful vocal presence and sets an uplifting tone.
Spy’s Eikon builds on that momentum through crystalline melodies and driving rhythms.
The energy continues climbing with Ambedoverse’s Chasing Grays in Roger Shah Uplifting Mix form.
Roger then teams up with Edwin “Yelow” Tsui across the back-to-back pairing of A Better Place and Serendipity, adding another dynamic chapter to the mix.
Midway through the journey, selections such as Yodis’ Le Vanda and Eric de la Vega & Alaera’s Cuando El Amor Acaba broaden the emotional spectrum once again.
Those tracks pave the way for Enchanted Dreams, which sees Roger collaborating with FSOE standouts Omar Sherif and Philippe El Sisi.
The compilation concludes where it began: with Roger Shah, Kristina Sky, and Evan Henzi reuniting on Hear Me Calling.
Serving as the album’s final statement, the closing track delivers a memorable ending that feels both expansive and deeply human.
A Summer Tradition from Roger Shah has Returns
For longtime listeners, Magic Island – Music For Balearic People has always represented more than a compilation series.
It offers an annual escape. It captures the feeling of watching the sun rise after a night of dancing.
The album also celebrates connection through melody and atmosphere.
With its carefully curated exclusives, multigenerational collaborations, and seamless journey from dawn to midnight, Magic Island – Music For Balearic People 13 continues that tradition.
Summer may arrive every year, but for many Balearic music fans, it never truly begins until there’s another trip to Magic Island.
