Stadium Jakarta Reopens After More Than a Decade

Opening of Stadium Jakarta

Stadium Jakarta has officially reopened after more than a decade away from the dancefloor.

The venue helped shape Indonesia’s electronic music culture. It originally opened in 1997 before unexpectedly closing its doors in 2014.

Originally launched in 1997, the club unexpectedly closed its doors in 2014.

Its closure ended a remarkable run that established it as one of Southeast Asia’s most respected nightlife destinations.

Stadium Jakarta Built a Lasting Legacy

During its peak years, Stadium was more than just a nightclub.

It became a benchmark for Indonesia’s electronic music scene by championing house, deep house, tribal, and especially progressive house.

The club relied on a talented team of resident DJs. They built a reputation for carefully curated sets.

Many of those timeless anthems remain popular with dance music fans today.

Its underground atmosphere also attracted some of the biggest names in electronic music.

Artists including Sasha, John Digweed, Âme, Hernán Cattáneo, and Nina Kraviz all performed at Stadium.

Many other internationally renowned DJs also appeared at the venue.

The club was named Club of the Year at the 2013 Paranoia Awards. It also received several other accolades during its run.

For both local and international DJs, performing at Stadium became a rite of passage.

Many international artists later expressed their desire to return after experiencing the club’s unique atmosphere.

After the club closed, Indonesia’s nightlife scene continued to evolve. Now, after years of anticipation, the iconic venue has finally returned in 2026.

Opening a New Chapter

The new Stadium is now located in Kelapa Gading.

It replaces the club’s former home on Hayam Wuruk.

Although the venue has been completely redesigned with a more modern interior and upgraded production, it aims to preserve the spirit that made the original club so influential.

Following a two-day soft opening in June, Stadium officially launched its new era with The New Dimension Chapter Grand Opening on July 10 and 11, 2026.

The opening night featured Indonesian legend Bobby Suryadi alongside Zbrx, resident DJ Zaldy, Dynna, Sandra, R Jodi, and MC Big Bunch.

The celebration continued on the second night.

The lineup included Nikki Frazetta, resident DJ Zaldy, Krazy Sandi, Octav, Dixie, Starla, and MC Big Bunch.

As Stadium begins this new chapter, its mission remains clear.

The club aims to reconnect with the generations of clubbers who helped build its legacy.

It also hopes to introduce that legacy to a new generation of dance music fans.

Welcome back, Stadium Jakarta.
