Blending Storytelling With Electronic Music

Born in Yerevan, Armenia, and now based in Dubai, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN draws inspiration from cinema, visual art, and science fiction literature.

His artist name references Ray Bradbury’s classic novel The Illustrated Man. Instead of telling stories through tattoos, he uses sound to create evolving narratives.

Each production combines emotion, tension, and cinematic atmosphere to deliver an immersive listening experience.

He also brings the same storytelling approach to his live performances.

His DJ sets emphasize movement, energy, and emotional progression throughout each performance.

The Skin Of Time combines elements of indie dance, melodic techno, and house across 11 tracks.

The album balances cinematic storytelling with dancefloor appeal.

As a result, it creates a listening experience that feels both expansive and deeply personal.

According to THE ILLUSTRATED MAN, the record does not follow a traditional storyline.

Instead, each track explores different emotional and existential stages. Together, they guide listeners through an evolving journey of reflection.

THE ILLUSTRATED MAN Highlights “When Everything is Said”

THE ILLUSTRATED MAN highlights “When Everything is Said” as the album’s featured single. He produced the track with Sasha Carassi.

The DJ cites artists such as Burial, Daft Punk, David Bowie, and Aphex Twin as key influences.

The song opens with atmospheric pads before introducing uplifting percussion.

Swedish singer, songwriter, and producer Jonatan Bäckelie delivers an emotional vocal performance.

His voice adds another layer to the track. It helps turn the production into a melodic house anthem.

The track features cinematic melodies. Its emotional atmosphere adds even more depth.

Fans of RÜFÜS DU SOL, Anyma, and Ben Böhmer may especially enjoy it.
