EchoCraft Debut to Bridges Generations Through Music

On June 12, Jakarta’s electronic music community came together at AM Lounge to celebrate the launch of EchoCraft.

Founded by Faried and Budi, the new platform aims to bridge generations through a shared love for progressive house, organic house, and emotionally driven dance music.

Presented under The Convention, the event was more than a debut showcase.

It marked the beginning of a project built around a simple but increasingly rare idea: creating space for different generations of club culture to meet through sound.

EchoCraft emerged from a shared obsession between its founders.

Despite coming from different eras, Faried and Budi found common ground in music that prioritizes depth, storytelling, and emotional connection over fleeting trends.

That philosophy shaped the entire evening, with a lineup that reflected both heritage and renewal within Jakarta’s underground scene.

Where Generations Meet Through Music

Bolex B2B Svara were entrusted with opening the night, easing the crowd into the experience through a warm and rhythmic Afro House set.

It was the perfect way to begin a night built on musical exploration.

The set gently guided the crowd into the experience.

From there, the journey unfolded through progressive house, melodic techno, and trance-infused sounds.

A younger generation carried the narrative forward.

Akbar Jiwa delivered a set built around melodic techno and progressive house, while previously Janice, a member of DAFKAF, showcased the melodic sensibilities that have increasingly defined a new wave of selectors in Jakarta.

Veteran progressive house figures ARIMA, consisting of husband-and-wife duo Ari Jo and Rima, both respected names from the legendary Stadium Club era, represented a direct connection to Indonesia’s clubbing history.

Their presence served as a reminder of how progressive sounds have continued to evolve while remaining rooted in community.

Dina Subono and Ramacana brought the energy of Technohousy.

Exodus representatives LTN and Kaell explored the intersection between trance and melodic techno.

A Night Shaped by Progressive Sounds Fit for EchoCraft Debut

Throughout the night, the music moved seamlessly between deep grooves, progressive textures, melodic tension, and euphoric release.

The founders themselves stepped into the booth as EchoCraft, embodying the project’s vision in its purest form.

As the night gave way to morning, Bastedo and Alda closed the gathering with a selection of deep house and progressive house that felt both warm and unhurried.

The evening also became a birthday celebration for Eka Yuniar, Dede Rully, Mila Kadi, and Rheema.

That personal touch brought an added sense of warmth to the gathering.

In the end, the event was as much about human connection as it was about music.

For The Convention, the launch represented another step in its ongoing evolution.

Faried founded the platform, and Budi took on the responsibility of managing its growth.

What once served as a local meeting point has steadily developed into a movement with wider aspirations.

Through every stage of that journey, it has stayed connected to the spirit of Jakarta’s underground community.

EchoCraft’s first chapter offered no grand statements or extravagant promises.

It showed that progressive music continues to thrive when different generations choose to build together. Not apart.

In the end, EchoCraft’s launch was defined by the people in the room.

Artists, dancers, old friends, and new faces gathered around a sound that continues to connect generations long after the lights come on.
