Assia Keva, a Bali-based singer-songwriter, has released her latest single, “Moonlight.”

The track presents a simple love story, yet she wrote it with a strong sense of sincerity and emotion.

She first created “Moonlight” in 2022 during a quiet evening at home.

While sitting at the dining table, she heard a friend casually playing a simple guitar melody that immediately stayed in her mind.

From there, the song came together very quickly.

She later explained that it became one of the fastest songs she had ever written, taking only about 10 to 15 minutes to complete in its initial form.

However, because the moment felt spontaneous, she left the song unfinished and did not return to it for years.

At that time, she was still 16 and had not yet focused on songwriting rules or structure.

She approached the process purely through feeling, without worrying about whether the song met technical standards.

Assia Keva Revisit The Song

A few months ago, the track resurfaced.

While working in the studio with Kevin Suwandhi on her previous mini album forevermore, but it’s just me and piano, she found herself with extra time.

This led them to revisit “Moonlight” and explore it again.

They then decided to record the song in its simplest form.

With only vocals and piano, the stripped-down version allowed the emotion to take center stage.

After hearing it again, she realized that the song she once set aside carried a special meaning.

She described it as a very simple love song that came entirely from the heart.

Now, the stripped version of “Moonlight” is available on major digital platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.

Looking ahead, the full arrangement of the track will appear on her upcoming album.

In addition, a live video performance is planned for release on her YouTube channel.
