Record Store Day Indonesia steps into the global celebration of Record Store Day 2026.

It does not simply take part, it shifts the focus back where it belongs.

Across the country, attention returns to physical music stores, turning them once again into the heart of the experience.

This year, the event once again highlights the importance of independent record shops as cultural spaces where music lives beyond streaming.

Record Store Day first began in 2007, founded by Michael Kurtz and Carrie Colliton in the United States.

Since then, it has grown into a global movement that supports independent record stores while keeping physical music culture alive in the digital age.

In Indonesia, the celebration stays true to its roots.

Organizers continue to center the experience around record stores themselves, just as they have done in previous years.

Across multiple cities, participating shops begin to take on a different energy. Each one becomes more than just a place to browse.

They turn into small gathering points for music lovers.

Inside, visitors can find exclusive Record Store Day Indonesia releases lining the shelves.

At the same time, a range of special in-store activities unfolds, giving people a chance to experience the celebration up close rather than from a distance.

Satria Ramadhan, the coordinator of Record Store Day Indonesia, explained that the team continues to protect the original spirit of the event.

He noted that the focus goes beyond exclusive releases.

It also emphasizes the experience of visiting stores, meeting fellow music fans, and rediscovering music through physical formats.
