Eminata returns with Higher, her second single since becoming an independent artist.
Released on November 6, the track draws inspiration from two years of being surrounded by love.
It blends blues-inspired soul melodies, dynamic saxophone, driving beats, and soaring vocals.
The song captures the joy of being in love while exploring the restless emotions that can come with feelings that are difficult to contain.

Eminata Finds a New Source of Inspiration
Eminata has often turned pain and heartbreak into music.
However, being in a healthy and fulfilling relationship made her question whether she could still write songs with the same emotional depth.
Rather than running out of feelings to explore, she discovered something unexpected.
Her experience of love had grown so intense that it almost became painful. That overwhelming emotion became the foundation of Higher.
The single reflects where Eminata is emotionally today. It also shows how love can offer a powerful new direction for her songwriting.
A Sound Shaped by Soul and Classic Influences
Eminata draws inspiration from the pop, folk, soul, and R&B sounds of the 1960s and 1970s.
Her music moves across different styles, from bluesy, guitar-driven songs with emotional intensity to uplifting tracks influenced by city pop.
Born in Zushi, Kanagawa, Eminata also has Australian roots and spent part of her life in Paris.
These experiences have helped shape her flexible musical perspective and playful approach to language.
Her career has also brought her to notable stages and events. In 2023, she performed at the ROOKIE A GO-GO stage at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL.
Two years later, she completed her first Asia tour and won the Bob Marley Song Contest at the Oasis beach house in Hayama.
With Higher, Eminata continues to explore the emotions that shape her music.
This time, she turns to love as her creative inspiration, showing that powerful songs can come from moments of happiness as well as heartbreak.
Higher features lyrics and melody by Eminata, with production by pedestrian and mixing and mastering by Shintaro Sato.
The cover artwork was also created by Eminata.
The single is available on streaming platforms.
